Freshmen Women Set to Make Debut at Roy Griak Invitational

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech cross country competes in its second event of the season as the team travels to Saint Paul, Minn. for the Roy Griak Invitational. Freshmen Sophie Boice and Mary Brady make their debut with Tech after running unattached at the Kennesaw State Opener.

The men start their 8k race at 10:30 a.m. CT. The women start their 6k race at 11:15 p.m. CT. Maps and live results can be found by clicking the blue boxes above this article.

Competing on the men’s side is Georgia Tech, Minnesota, BYU, Grand Canyon, Illinois-Chicago, Iowa State, Liberty, Michigan State, Milwaukee, Nevada, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Pepperdine, Portland State, Santa Clara, South Dakota, South Dakota State, St. Thomas, Tennessee, UC San Diego and Wyoming. BYU, Iowa State and Michigan State all earned national rankings in the most recent USTFCCCA NCAA DI Men’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll.

Competing on the women’s side is Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Illinois-Chicago, Iowa State, Liberty, Michigan State, Milwaukee, Nevada, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Pepperdine, Portland State, Santa Clara, South Dakota, South Dakota State, St. Thomas, Tennessee, UC San Diego and Wyoming. Minnesota, Iowa State and Michigan State all earned national rankings in the most recent USTFCCCA NCAA DI Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll.

This is the first event for the Jackets after coming off an impressive outing at the Kennesaw State Opener where both the men and women finished first. The women had four of the top five finishers and the men had 10 of the top 13 finishers.
