Tech Announces 2026 Cross Country Slate

by Jack Oliaro

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech cross country teams have announced their full 2026 schedule. The Yellow Jackets will compete in four meets across the regular season, including the Georgia Tech XC Invitational at the Foxhall Sporting Club in Douglasville, Georgia.

Tech will begin the season on Friday, September 4, with the Stan Sims XC Opener at Allatoona Creek Park. This marks the fourth consecutive season the Jackets will begin in Acworth, Georgia. Both men’s and women’s teams earned team victories last season as Lottie Chappell took her first career race win in the 5k with a 17:18.8.

The Jackets’ next meet will be the featured Southern Showcase on Friday, September 18, at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama. Last season’s meet featured over 900 total runners with seven Tech runners recording top-50 finishes across the 8k and 5k races.

The white and gold will host the Georgia Tech XC Invitational for the third consecutive season with a new location at the Foxhall Sporting Club in Douglasville, Georgia on Friday, October 2. The Jackets swept the podium places across both races as they dominated their home event.

Tech will return to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Crimson Classic at Harry Pritchett Running Park on Friday, October 16, hosted by Alabama. Chappell once again led the charge for the Jackets in last year’s race, placing 17th overall.

The 2026 ACC Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, October 30, from the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course in Blacksburg, Virginia. Following the conference races, Tech will be set to compete at the 2026 NCAA South Regional Championships on Friday, November 13, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.

GT will be aiming to qualify for the 2026 NCAA National Championships, taking place on Saturday, November 21, from the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The Jackets will have 10 returners on the men’s side along with freshman Luca Caruso from San Diego, California. The women’s squad will feature nine returners with five new additions including freshmen Addy Elwell, Audrey Latham, Annie Lewis, and Ele Norton along with Clemson transfer Elizabeth Healy.
