THE FLATS – Freshman Max Fowler and junior Berka Saka have earned ACC honors this week, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday.
After two first place performances at the FSU Fall Classic, Fowler was named ACC Men’s Diver of the Week. In the men’s 3-meter dive, Fowler scored 375.10 points. In the 1-meter dive, he scored 326 points. The award marks Fowlers’ first career recognition by the ACC.
At Friday’s meet, Saka championed one event. Saka was a part of the men’s 400 free relay team that placed first with a time of 2:58.43. Saka was also a part of the men’s 200 medley relay team that placed second with a time of 1:29.36. In the 100-yard back stroke, Saka finished with a third-place time of 48.24.
Saka continued his success on Saturday, recording a first-place finish in the 200 back (1:47.24), 200 IM (1:48.70) and a second-place time of 44.83 in the 100 free. Saka also participated in the 400-medley relay event. He helped the men’s 400 medley relay team to a third-place finish (3:18.69).
