Four Jackets Earn All-ACC Honors

THE FLATS Carol Lee was named first-team all-Atlantic Coast Conference on Thursday, leading a quartet of Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who received all-ACC selections, as announced by the league office. In addition, Kylie Bilchev, Ava Hrastar and Kate Sharabura were named to the all-ACC third team.

The four selections for Georgia Tech are the most since 2017 and tied for second in the ACC behind North Carolina (5). Duke and NC State each placed four on the all-ACC teams.

Compiling a 25-8 overall singles record and 22-6 overall doubles mark, Lee led the Yellow Jackets from the No. 1 positions. In singles action, the sophomore went 16-5 from the No. 1 spot and compiled an 8-5 record against league opponents. She climbed as high as No. 22 in the ITA national singles rankings and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships. She finished the season with an 11-8 record against ranked opponents.

Lee partnered with Sharabura in doubles action to compose the No. 5-ranked doubles team in the country. The pair went 22-6 overall and 17-3 in dual action this season, mainly from the No. 1 position. Lee and Sharabura earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Championship, solidifying ITA All-American honors for the duo.

Joining Sharabura as third team selections were Bilchev and Hrastar. In singles play, Bilchev went 17-11 overall and spent the entire dual season ranked in the nation’s top 100. The freshman Jacket went 8-5 against league opponents, mainly from the No. 3 position. Hrastar compiled a 19-14 overall singles ledger, including an 8-5 ACC record.

As a doubles team, Bilchev and Hrastar put together a 21-10 overall record and reached the NCAA Championship quarterfinals after earning an at-large bid. The pair climbed as high as No. 12 in the ITA rankings and finished ranked No. 21. By reaching the NCAA Championship quarterfinals, the pair garnered ITA All-American status.
