Four Jackets Dive on Monday at Zone Championships

Men’s 3-Meter Results 

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Yellow Jackets had four divers in action on day one of the 2018 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. Monday, March 5.

Tech’s top finisher in the men’s 3-meter dive was freshman Jacob Kreider, as the first-year Jacket posted a combined score of 292.60 over his six dives in the prelims to place 23rd overall.

Fellow freshman diver Henry Carman placed 28th overall with his prelims score of 281.60, while junior Matt Casillas finished three spots behind Carman in 31st with a score of 276.00.

GT freshman Davis Waln rounded out the Jacket divers in the 3-meter prelims with a score of 236.90.

Casillas, Kreider and Carman will all return to the boards tomorrow to compete in the men’s 1-meter springboard event. Prelims are set for 11 a.m. with the finals scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m.

Tech’s Casillas, Nolan Mallet and Paige Gohr will all compete on Wednesday in the men’s and women’s platform events. The men will drive in the morning with the prelims at 10 a.m. and the finals at 11:55 a.m., while the women’s platform dive will take place in the afternoon session with the prelims at 2:45 p.m. and the finals set for 4:15 p.m.
