NORCROSS, Ga. (April 21) – The fourth seeded Georgia Tech women’s tennis team dropped a close match to five seed Florida State 5-3 in friday’s ACC semifinals at the Raquet Club of the South in Norcross, Ga.
The match was clinched at the No. 1 doubles spot when Seminoles Alida Gallovits and Nanette Duxin beat Sabrina Pardo and Bobbi Guthrie of Tech 8-6.
Going in to the doubles matches the Jackets were behind 4-2 and couldn’t mount the comeback. The two singles wins for the Jackets came at No. 4 singles where Jaime Wong beat Jessica Babuena 6-0, 6-1 and when Bobbi Guthrie beat Nanette Duxin 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-0 at the No. 3 spot.
