Flores Concludes Palmetto Pink Open

SUMTER, S.C. – After winning four matches in the Palmetto Pink Open and reaching the main draw, freshman Victoria Flores wrapped up the ITF pro circuit tournament falling in the second round on Thursday.

The Fort Dodge, Iowa, native took the court this morning against Victoria Rodriguez in the second round of the main draw. Flores jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but Rodriguez battled back and tied the match at 4-4. Rodriguez broke serve over Flores to take a 5-4 lead in the first and served out the set to take a one set advantage over Flores. Rodriguez took the match, winning the second set 6-1.

The Jackets return to the court at the ITA Southeast Regional in Athens, Ga., beginning Oct. 19.
