ATLANTA–Georgia Tech,which finished in a tie for fourth place in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings, will be the fifth seed in this week’s ACC Tournament, scheduled for Thursday through Sunday at the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. Tech opens the tournament Friday at 2:30 p.m. against fourth-seeded Virginia Tech.
The Yellow Jackets (17-10, 8-8) and Hokies (15-12, 8-8) are tied in the standings, but Virginia Tech earned the fourth seed by virtue of its win in the only regular-season meeting between the two schools.
