THE FLATS – ESPN’s College Gameday, college football’s premier pregame show, will be on site in Dublin, Ireland for Georgia Tech’s 2024 season opener versus Florida State in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The game, which will air on ESPN platforms, is set for Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.
The selection of Georgia Tech-Florida State for the first College Gameday of the 2024 season marks the first time that the show will originate from a Tech game since the Yellow Jackets’ 2019 opener at Clemson and the seventh time overall that the Jackets are featured on the program. It will also mark the first time that Gameday has ever originated from outside of the United States.
“We couldn’t be more excited that College Gameday will make its first-ever international trip for our 2024 season opener in Ireland,” Georgia Tech director of athletics J Batt said. “The presence of College Gameday is a great opportunity to showcase the Institute, our football program and the direction of the Yellow Jackets under Brent Key. It’s just another great reason to make your plans today to join us in Dublin in August as we kick off the 2024 season against a great ACC opponent in Florida State.”

Competitive Drive Initiative Turn 2
Looking to build on the success of last year’s Competitive Drive Initiative, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation and Georgia Tech athletics are partnering once again to launch Competitive Drive Initiative Turn 2. CDI Turn 2 has a goal of raising $2.5 million in new gifts to the Alexander-Tharpe Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund by Dec. 31, and Georgia Tech and the Georgia Tech Foundation will match eligible gifts to accelerate the impact for Tech athletics. Like last year, not only will gifts to CDI Turn 2 be matched, but so will the contributor’s benefits in the way of A-T Fund giving levels and priority points.
