Divar Readies for NCAA Singles Championship

THE FLATS — Junior Carlos Divar will begin competition at the 2019 NCAA Singles Championship as he meets Victor Pham of Columbia in the first round Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. All of the matches for the national tournament will be played at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Divar will make his NCAA Singles Championship debut, after being named to the all-ACC first team, and standing at No. 27 in singles in the country.

Divar manned the No. 1 court, posting 10 singles victories. In addition, he was named ACC co-player of the week for his impactful performance in wins over NC State and Louisville, as well as being named to the ACC Doubles Team of the Week with partner Phillip Gresk.

He also picked up a win over then-No. 2 Jan Zielinski from the University of Georgia, 6-3, 6-4, in the MLK Tournament.

The NCAA Singles Championships will run from May 20-25, with one round of action played per day. The individual national champion will be crowned on Saturday, May 25.
