Entry #6

Twenty-four games into this wonderful season we are having, it’s just amazing to look back on how much has been accomplished so far. Besides practicing and playing hard, winning some big games and getting ranked in the top 25, being a part of this Georgia Tech women’s basketball program has been a wonderful experience for me. Many people fail to realize that we are more than just the athletes you see out on the court. Even we sometimes get caught up in just being students and players but this program has taught me so much more.

Because of hard work and dedication, this program has opened the doors to many opportunities for my teammates and I and we have been introduced to many influential people. Personally, I have been given an opportunity to volunteer in the campuses communication and marketing department. Having this opportunity has shown me that being a part of this program can truly benefit me in other ways besides just basketball.

This program has also played a major part in me learning how important communication is on and off the court. While on the court, talking really helps us execute correctly and make defensive stops. The communication has also transferred to off the court situations, where talking plays a major part in meeting new people and having more opportunities in life.

As we move forward in our season we continue to strive to achieve our goals. We realize working hard each day has brought us very far and maintaining our focus will help take us farther. After battling hard and defeating Clemson and Florida State and suffering two tough defeats, we are motivated more than ever to accomplish the long term goal we have set for our team, which is to make it deep into the NCAA tournament. Next up is a victory against Miami.
