A.J. Erdely is in his second season at Georgia Tech. He came to Tech in 2023 as an offensive analyst and was named offensive assistant coach (quarterbacks) in 2024.
At Tech, Erdely was reunited with offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, who he served under as a quality control specialist at Southern Miss in 2019.
Following his one-year stint with Faulkner at USM, Erdely has served as an assistant coach at Northeast Mississippi Community College for the past three seasons — first as wide receivers coach in 2020, then as offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator in 2021 and 2022.
After NEMCC finished in the top 15 nationally in total offense and scoring each of his two seasons as offensive coordinator, Erdely was hired as offensive coordinator, QB coach and recruiting coordinator in 2023. He briefly served in that role before joining the staff at Georgia Tech.
Erdely played quarterback at UAB in 2017-18, where he compiled a 15-6 record over two seasons as a starter. A two-year captain and 2017 all-conference honoree, he led the Blazers to the 2018 Conference USA championship and a pair of bowl berths. His 47 total touchdowns rank fifth in school history.
A metro Atlanta native, Erdely played high school football at West Forsyth H.S. He earned a bachelor’s degree from UAB in 2019.
