Adriane Butler (formerly Lapsley), a former Georgia Tech track & field all-American, was named assistant women’s track & field coach in 2007.
The former standout will oversee the Yellow Jackets’ sprints and intermediate hurdles, coordinate training of the combined events, handles all aspects of recruiting for those events and a number of various administrative functions.
During her time on The Flats, Butler was one of the track & field programs most versatile and accomplished performers, competing in the sprints and hurdles, both the long and triple jump, as well as on many relays. A 2006 graduate of Georgia Tech, she earned all-America honors three times, once in the 60m indoors and twice in the 4x100m relay.
She was an ACC Champion six times, twice each in the 60m, 100m, and 4x100m relay, and earned all-ACC honors a total of nine times. Currently she holds school records in the 55m indoors, as well as the 4x100m, 4x200m, and Shuttle Hurdle relays.
In addition, she served as the women’s track & field representative for the GTAA Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
