Choice and Craddock Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Tashard Choice and Amanda Craddock were named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, October 9, 2006.

Choice, a junior from Riverdale, Ga., rushed for a career-high 138 yards and two touchdowns to lead 18th-ranked Georgia Tech to a 27-23 Atlantic Coast Conference victory over Maryland. He posted his second-straight 100-yard effort and carried 26 times for a 5.3-yard average. Choice scored on a one-yard plunge in the second-quarter, and then his 15-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter capped the Tech comeback and proved to be the winning points.

Craddock, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., swept through the blue draw singles bracket, concluding with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win over SMU’s Natalia Bubien. She also teamed with Whitney McCrary to play for the blue draw doubles championship. The Yellow Jacket duo won, 8-4, defeating the Illinois’ duo of Finnegan and Fudge to earn their first doubles title of the season.
