THE FLATS – Fifth-year senior Caio Pumputis earned his ninth All-American honor of his illustrious career with his performance in the 200 IM.
Pumputis swam a time of 1:43.37 in the finals to earn the honor. He earned his spot in the final by winning his heat with a time of 1:42.13.
Tech also competed in the 200 free relay and set a new program record time of 1:17.36 from the team of Christian Ferraro, Batur Ünlü, Pumputis and Austin Daniel.
Three more Yellow Jackets competed individually on the day. Mert Kilavuz started the day for Tech in the 500 free clocking in at 4:17.41, Berke Saka swam in the 200 IM clocking in at 1:44.81 and Ferraro took the pool for the 50 free, touching the wall at 19.44.
The White and Gold will continue NCAA competition on Friday with the 100 fly (Ferraro), 100 Breast (Pumputis) and 100 Back (Saka) as well as the 400 free relay at night.
