LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Tony Burkhardt and sophomores Stephanie England and Evan Stowers made the finals of the men’s one-meter and women’s three-meter springboards to lead Georgia Tech at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Saturday.
Burkhardt, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., finished 10th on the men’s one-meter board with a score of 574.65. Stowers, a native of Independence, Ky., finished 13th on the men’s one-meter board with a score of 553.00.
England, a native of Titusville, Fla., posted a score of 520.15 on the women’s three-meter springboard to finish in 16th place for the Yellow Jackets.
Also competing on the men’s one-meter board for Tech were sophomores Peter Doblar and Michael Bennett. Doblar finished 25th in the prelims with a score of 247.65, while Bennett finished 39th with a score of 203.55.
The diving meet will conclude with the platform on Sunday. The top three from each event will advance to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
