ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Chris Bosh was selected as the ACC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season after averaging 22.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two ACC wins last week over North Carolina and Virginia.
The 6-10, Lancaster, Texas, product scored 22 points in each game, hitting on 18-of-29 from the field and blocking seven. In earning ACC Freshman honors for the fourth time this season, Bosh had 22 points, six rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals against the Tar Heels, then came back with a 22-point, nine-rebound, three-blocked shot effort against the Cavaliers.
Bosh remains the ACC’s top percentage shooter (60.0), ranks second in rebounds (9.3 per game)) and blocked shots (1.83), and eighth in scoring (16.3).
For the second time in three weeks, Wake Forest’s Josh Howard has been named ACC Player of the Week. The 6-6, Winston-Salem, senior averaged 25.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game leading the 17th-ranked Deacons to a pair of ACC road victories at Clemson and North Carolina. Howard was 5-of-12 from three-point range and 15-of-19 from the free throw line. In Sunday’s win at North Carolina, Howard had a career-high 32 points to go with 10 rebounds, two assists and three blocked shots.
