THE FLATS – Georgia Tech senior swimmer Robert Borowicz earned a spot on the 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men’s At-Large Team, it was released today.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Named to the Academic All-District 4 Team, Borowicz, who was also a 2016-17 All-ACC Academic Team selection, graduated with a degree in computer science this past Saturday, May 6, with a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average. A 2015-16 CSCAA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention selection, he was also a L.W. “Chip” Roberts Award recipient this year.
In the pool this year, the senior recorded the fourth-best time in both the 100 and 200 back events for the Jackets. He also turned in the fifth-fastest time on the team in the 50 free on the year.
First-Team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third team All-America® honorees will be selected later this month.
