Hello there Tech fans!
I’m Kristen and I just transferred here from the University of Florida. Let me tell you, it’s been a busy first month for me and the rest of the team but I absolutely love it here and wouldn’t trade it for anything! School is much tougher than it was at UF and can sometimes be overwhelming, as I have already seen. One day during my first week I got so turned around and stressed out about things that I had a complete meltdown and Coach Downes and Whitney Haller had to come find me on the golf cart and escort me to class! Ha-ha! But all the girls have been great in helping me find my way around to different classes and such, and in helping me to adjust to this new life.
Enough with the small talk though, let’s move on to something more exciting–softball! Can you believe that our first game is right around the corner?! In just a few days we start our crazy schedule of playing, traveling, practicing and still going to school. So, with life going to be as hectic as ever we’ll definitely need your support in the stands! Georgia State isn’t far down the road, so if you have some free time on Saturday it would be GREAT to see you up there, cheering us on to our first of many victories this season!
And if you can’t make it out this weekend, don’t sweat it! You can just come watch us at home in our brand new stadium! We were given a tour of it just a couple of weeks ago, and let me tell you, I had chills go down my spine when I stepped out onto the dirt! It looks amazing and will be a more comfortable setting for you and your family–there’s even a grassy hill for the kids to run around and play on! Also we will be able to play under the lights this year, and if you’ve never been to a game being played under the lights, you are really missing out! It makes it seem so magical, and the backdrop of downtown Atlanta will look awesome!
