On the missed opportunities the Hawkeyes had:
“I felt like we had some opportunities during the game. At some point we just did not have any luck. I think about one ball Colleen hit sharply up the middle. They broke thinking our runner was going, so the short stop wouldn’t have even been there. They got a double play to end the inning. I just feel like there were occasions where we could have gotten something going, and we just didn’t get a break. But we talked about that you make your breaks.”

On the last stand the team made in the bottom of the seventh inning:
“We had great effort all throughout the team. We came out and played hard and did not give up at all. We just kept scratching and clawing to get runs.”
