ATLANTA–Tennis standouts Kelly Anderson and Marko Rajevac and diving star Evan Stowers were named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, November 1, 2004.
Anderson, a junior from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, won both the singles and doubles title at the Seminole Classic. She defeated South Florida’s Gabriela Duch in the Flight 1 singles bracket to take the singles championship. Anderson paired with Esther van Londen and won the Flight 1 doubles championship. She now has a 7-4 record on the fall in singles play and a 7-3 record in doubles action.
Rajevac, a junior from Belgrade, Yugoslavia, advanced to the finals of both singles and doubles at the Crimson Tide Fall Tournament. He posted a 4-1 in singles on the weekend and a 3-1 record in doubles. Rajevac improved his fall record to 6-3 in singles and 5-3 in doubles.
Stowers, a freshman from Independence, Ky., won both the one and three-meter diving events this weekend at the Atlantic Coast Conference Quad Meet. He won the three-meter board on Friday night with a NCAA Zone qualifying score of 327.10. Stowers posted his second NCAA Zone mark in as many days on the one-meter springboard with a score of 300.35.
