THE FLATS – Georgia Tech football’s run to the 1990 national championship will be chronicled in We’re No. 1 – The 1990 ACC Football Season, which will debut on Monday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. on ACC Network.
We’re No. 1 features exclusive footage with members of the Yellow Jackets’ fourth national title team, including head coach Bobby Ross and key players Shawn Jones, Scott Sisson, Ken Swilling and current Tech assistant coach Marco Coleman.

The documentary highlights Georgia Tech’s heart-stopping 41-38 win over No. 1 Virginia that vaulted the Jackets to a 11-0-1 campaign, capped by a 45-21 dismantling of Nebraska in the Florida Citrus Bowl that secured the national championship.
The debut of We’re No. 1 kick-starts two weeks of recognitions of the 1990 national champs. On Saturday, Oct. 23, the 2021 Yellow Jackets (3-3, 2-2 ACC) travel to Charlottesville, Va. to face Virginia on ACC Network (7:30 p.m. kickoff) in a primetime rematch of the classic 1990 matchup. A week later, Tech will commemorate the 30-year anniversary of the 1990 national title (delayed by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic) during its homecoming game against Virginia Tech (Saturday, Oct. 30 at Bobby Dodd Stadium). Kickoff time for the homecoming contest versus VT is still TBA, but tickets are available and can be purchased online by clicking HERE.
