Yellow Jackets In the NFL Update

Oct. 18, 2010

Next game: Saturday vs. Clemson, 3:30 p.m. (ABC/ESPN)

Out of the four juniors who left early for the NFL earlier this year, only Demaryius Thomas is currently seeing action. Jonathan Dwyer is healthy, but has not seen action. Morgan Burnett and Derrick Morgan are both out with torn ACLs.

Others are injured, too. New Orleans Saints safety Chris Reis is out after having shoulder surgery. New England Patriots defensive tackle Darryl Richard has been on injured reserve all season. Detroit Lions defensive back Jahi Word-Daniels has been on the IR all season as well.

Among the healthy former Yellow Jackets, Calvin Johnson and Dawan Landry had huge days on Sunday. Johnson had five receptions for 146 yards, including an 87-yard TD catch. Landry had 12 tackles for the Ravens.

One addition to the list: Andrew Gardner joined the Minnesota Vikings practice squad this week.
