ATLANTA (Mar. 29) – Held to just three hits on the afternoon, the Georgia Tech softball team (18-22, 0-2) fell to Brown University (4-7) by the score of 5-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets looked to be in control of the game early as they got on the board in their first at bat taking a 3-0 lead behind an RBI single from Kori Jacobson and two Bears’ errors, allowing two additional runs to score.
However, Brown took the lead for good in the top of the fifth, scoring all five of their runs on four hits, two walks, and one Yellow Jacket error.
Jamie Smith (9-10) received the loss for Tech as she gave up seven hits, walked one and gave up five runs.
For the Bears, Aleana Sutton earned the victory as she allowed just three hits, walked two and struck out one.
Georgia Tech will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to face Florida State (28-17, 0-0) in a double-header conference game at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
