Director of Broadcasting
Wes Durham, the “Voice of the Jackets” since 1995, is in his seventh year calling the play-by-play for Georgia Tech football, basketball and baseball and serves as Georgia Tech’s Director of Broadcasting. In addition to serving as radio play-by-play announcer, Durham is the broadcast liaison between the Athletic Association and its multimedia rightsholder, ISP Sports.
In 1999, Durham, 35, was named by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association as the “Georgia Sportscaster of the Year.” Last December, Atlanta Magazine named him “Best Emerging Play-by-Play Talent.”
Prior to his arrival in Atlanta, Durham spent three seasons at Vanderbilt, where he won a pair of Associated Press awards for “Best Play-by-Play” and “Sports Reporting.” He has also made stops at Marshall and Radford.
A 1988 graduate of Elon College, Durham was honored in 1992 as the school’s Outstanding Young Alumnus.
Durham, whose father Woody Durham has been the radio voice of North Carolina football and basketball since 1971, is on the executive board of the Atlantic Coast Sportswriters Association. He also serves on the advisory board of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Sports Network
Durham is married to the former Lynn Munari of Lexington, Ky. They are parents of two-year-old twins, Emily and Will.
