In their first home match of the season, Lynnette Moster connected for a career high 20 kills (.326 percentage) while Lauren Sauer posted nine kills and a .533 percentage to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 30-21, 27-30, 30-23, 30-19 victory over Florida A&M. With the win, Georgia Tech improves to 4-1 while the Rattlerettes fall to 1-1.
The Jackets used a solid offense and defense to defeat the Rattlerettes, hitting a team .267 while holding its opponent to a .075 percentage. Defensively, Kele Eveland led Tech with 14 digs, followed by Jennifer Randall who had 12, and Keight Vincent who tallied 10. Jayme Gergen finished the match with five blocks, while Alexandra Preiss and Laura Kuhn posted four blocks a piece. Eveland paced the Jackets’ offense, recording 41 assists in the match.
Florida A&M was led by Adriana Kostadinova who had 24 kills, followed by Fiorella Aita Junek who posted 10 kills and 11 digs.
Georgia Tech returns to action tonight against Louisville in the third match of the Courtyard by Marriott Classic beginning at 7:30 p.m. in O’Keefe Gymnasium.
