Volleyball Adds Boezi to 2022 Signing Class

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech volleyball and coach Michelle Collier announced the signing of right-side hitter/middle blocker Anna Boezi to the 2022 roster on Friday.

“We believe Anna is going to make an immediate impact on and off the court,” said Collier. “She is learning the game at a fast pace and has a very high ceiling. We are looking forward to getting to work with her and know she will be a great teammate and competitor.”

Boezi joins the Yellow Jackets from Troy, Ohio, where she was a three-year letter winner for Troy High School. Also earning the nod as captain for a season, Boezi helped guide the Trojans to Miami Valley League Championships in 2019 and 2021.

Along with Boezi’s team success has come individual honors as over the last two seasons she’s been named Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches’ Association DI District 9 Player of the Year twice, to the Miami Valley League First Team two times and Troy High School MVP in two consecutive years. For her efforts this season, Boezi has been named a DI Ohio All-Star and All-Ohio Honorable Mention by the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association. Following selections, the Ohio all-star played in 2021’s District 9 all-star match and Ohio’s state all-star match. Through the AVCA, the highly touted recruit earned a spot on the AVCA’s “Best and Brightest” first team, the Region 5 All-Region team and was tabbed an All-America Honorable Mention in 2021. Boezi also owns a pair of records in Trojan history, ranking second in career blocks with 291 as well as kills in a match with 26.

On top of her volleyball acumen, Boezi has been a dual-sport athlete for the Trojans, also competing in track and field. Boezi has been a four-year letter winner on the track, helping Troy to a Greater Western Ohio Conference Championship as well as a Miami Valley League Championship as she’s set school records in the 100-meter shuttle hurdles and 300-meter shuttle hurdles.

Academically, Boezi is a National Commended Scholar, a National Honor Society member, has made the honor roll each of her high school years and earned a nearly perfect ACT score. Upon her arrival on The Flats, she plans to major in biomedical engineering.
