GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Kristi Miller was tabbed Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets to their first victory in 16 matches against instate rival Georgia.
The freshman from Marysville. Md. posted a three-set victory over the Bulldogs’ Shadisha Robinson, ranked fourth nationally, 2-6, 6-2, 7-6. In doubles action, Miller and teammate Dasha Potapova recorded the lone doubles point for the Yellow Jackets downing Kelley Hyndman and Evgenia Subbotina, 8-6.
Miller currently stands at 33-6 in singles play and is 22-9 in doubles on the season, and she has earned 10 singles and eight doubles victories in dual matches this spring.
Georgia Tech’s 4-3 win over No. 2 Georgia marked the highest-ranked opponent the Yellow Jackets have ever defeated in school history.
The Yellow Jackets will play their next set of dual matches at Virginia and Maryland, taking on the Wahoos April 2nd at 10 a.m. and then the Terrapins April 3rd at 11 a.m.
