Andrew Norton If I’m able to watch the game, I’ve gotta have my Georgia Tech jersey, Georgia Tech basketball shorts and Tech t-shirt on under my jersey. No matter if anyone’s around or not to see it. Always have to have a Tech t-shirt on on Game day. If it’s a week night game, I wear my Tech t-shirt under my polo to school/work.
Zach Shackleford Wearing the same GT hat I received at a Tech summer baseball camp from Danny Hall about 16 years ago.
Mark Price I wear my navy coaches polo with my Jackets’ golf visor to every game. Before each home game I stop at The Varsity to order 2 chilli dogs rings and frosted orange before the game. And I can’t forget my pom pom from the year 1990 — the Jackets’ last national championship season. Go Jackets!! THWG!
Mike Hulsey I have always worn a GT jersey while watching the game. Right now it’s a Gold #21. I did not get to wear it Saturday, so that is why we lost. So everyone can blame me now that you know.
Marshall Lyles I sleep with the GT blanket that i got when i was born.
Josh Busby Every Tech home game, I have attended since 1993, I have placed a penny, head’s up, under the left foot of the John Heisman statue. Also, I wore my Danny Hall “1,000 Victories” t-shirt to the UVA game, so it’s definitely my 2012 game wear.
Sean Crane When watching the games on TV, I have my 1990 championship coke bottle that I bring out and place next to the TV. It has to be cleaned (dusted) every time. Still looks like it did when it was brand new, and I hope to add another one eventually!
Brandi Gilbert Be at tailgate setting up by 7 a.m. AT THE ABSOLUTE LATEST regardless of what time the game starts. Plus you have to wear your “gameday” outfit — same shirt, shorts (jeans for cold games), and of course my gameday underwear…silly I know! Then enter the stadium with enough time to greet the band from the balcony before heading to our seats to finish watching warm-ups. You must do everything the same way each game (sit in the same seat, have the same person get the drinks, etc).
Steve Tanner Have to be at Yellow Jacket Alley. I have to wear a certain hat. Must have the radio to listen to Wes. Must wear a white GT polo shirt or the blue coaches shirt. No t-shirts are allowed. Record the game if on TV and rewatch win or not. On the way out of the house, I ask my rescued english bulldog what’s the good word.
Matt Harris Gold Tech polo, I have a specific one that is only for game day, and my white Tech hat, also reserved for game day. During the game, arms crossed with one hand on my chin when the offense is on the field, trying to be quiet to let the offense work. When the defense is out, hands are on hips or knees, with much yelling, clapping and stomping.
Matthew Smith Bond I don’t have one, but our son always pulls out on game day his GT bean bag chair, his GT snuggie, his GT banner, his GT hat (which he always wears, everyday, even to bed and it has been with him into surgery as well), his GT shirt, and his GT cup. Then he is ready to watch the game. When we are not at home and he can’t do that routine, he swears it messes up how Tech plays.
Charley Smith I hang my Georgia Tech Flag out of my front window. I shower with golden-colored soap. I then attach my car flags to my vehicle and head to the game or the game watching party.
Timmy McGaha I wear my autographed Calvin Johnson Tech jersey with my Tech hat with the yellow wig under it for every game and I eat at Waffle House for breakfast every Saturday morning that there is a Tech game because the colors are close to Tech’s and I order the All-Star every time.
Rachael Copeland I have a GT bow that my mom made for me in 1996. Sixteen years later, I wear it every game to cheer on the team as I sit in Swarm!
Jonathan Chastain I either eat, park, tailgate, or walk by The Varsity. My dad took me there when we went to my first game. I followed that tradition with my son at his first game also. I will be taking my other son there when he is old enough. Taking my wife to eat there this week for her first Georgia Tech game. First games should always include The Varsity.
Jeani Jessen First, before the 1st game, I hang the “Buzz” banner owned by my dad before he pased away — Class of ’37. Then we dress up Bobby The Bear in his jeans and Buzz shirt, holdiing the little football he has that plays Rambling Wreck. Then the magnetic Buzz’s go on the car, my Jackets shirt and hat goes on — the hat has a Buzz tie tack given to my dad at his 50th reunion — put the top down on the Miata. And hit the road until game time. Game time is texting to my daughter every time something happens. I totally arrange my schedule around the game.
Nathan O’Neal I carry a 1990 quarter in my shoe every Saturday! And occasional Thursday!! Hoping maybe it brings back the magic of 1990 one of there days!!! Go Tech!!
