Tyler Wheeler joined the Georgia Tech athletics staff as graphic designer in August 2016. Wheeler works with the brand and ideation, marketing and athletic communications and public relations staffs to produce and develop graphics and other visual media items to help promote Georgia Tech athletics.
Wheeler came to Georgia Tech after a year at Turner Sports where he was the social media graphic designer. At Turner Sports, he worked with the social editors and producers to develop graphics, gifs, and short form video for use on Turner Sports social platforms. He created daily editorial graphics, including show promos and sports storylines, and milestones, as well as editorial graphics based around broadcasts and game coverage. He also helped to create on air graphics for TNT and NBA TV shows such as Inside the NBA, The Starters, and 10 Before Tip.
Prior to coming to Atlanta and working at Turner Sports, he was a graphic designer at his the University of Tennessee, his alma mater. At UT, he assisted the creative director on several different projects related to the football program. He also worked on recruiting mailers, player name plates for position rooms, artwork for the football complex, and new artwork for the coaches’ offices.
Wheeler graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine and studio arts from the University of Tennessee in 2014.
