Rick Hubbard enters his fifth year with the Georgia Tech baseball program and second year as the Director of Pitching Development. Prior to his current role, Hubbard served as the Director of Player Personnel and has assisted the Yellow Jackets’ football and baseball strength and conditioning programs as well.
Over his five-year career, Hubbard has coached over 50 Major League Baseball draft selections, and nearly a dozen more in the National Football League.
In his current role, Hubbard is responsible for the administration and implementation of assessing the analytical data of the Jackets’ pitching staff.
Prior to Tech, Hubbard served as the pitching/assistant coach and head strength coach for the NCAA Division II Tiffin University baseball program. Tiffin garnered a program-record 32 wins in Hubbard’s first year, surpassing the previous mark of 25.
Hubbard received honors as an exercise physiologist from East Carolina University in 2015 and is a nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He also holds national certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Sports and Fitness Association.
A native of Angola, N.Y., Hubbard was a pitcher for the 2013 NCAA Division I MAAC Champion Canisius College baseball team. Following his playing career, Hubbard received a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and physiology from East Carolina University and a Master of Business Administration, M.B.A. from Tiffin University in 2018.
