2019 (Redshirt Senior): Transferred as a graduate student from Vanderbilt to help lead offensive line transformation from option-style blocking to Pro Style attack … Named to Senior Bowl watch list … Appeared and started in all 12 games (three at right guard, nine at right tackle) … Named one of the team’s four permanent captains … Helped mentor an offensive line group that consisted largely of freshmen and walk-ons after the loss of its two most experienced linemen in Jahaziel Lee and Kenny Cooper due to season-ending injuries … Helped lead the way for Tech’s running back corp. to eclipse the 200-yard rushing mark twice (at Miami (Fla.) – Oct. 19; vs. NC State – Nov. 21) and the 150 mark seven times … In the big 28-26 win over NC State (Nov. 21), Southers and Co. led a perfect pass protection scheme to allow zero sacks and just one quarterback hurry during the game … Also allowed zero sacks and zero quarterback hurries at Virginia (Nov. 9).

High School: Three-year letterwinner at Seton Hall Prep … Named second-team all-state, first-team all-county and first-team all-conference after recording 83 pancake blocks as a senior … Was the No. 19-ranked recruit in New Jersey … Coached by John Finnegan … Also lettered in wrestling and was a member of national honor society at Seton Hall Prep.
