MISCELLANEOUS NOTES • Georgia Tech captains: senior LB Quayshawn Nealy, senior RG Shaquille Mason, and sophomore QB Justin Thomas • Georgia Tech made its fourth ACC Football Championship Game appearance (2006, 2009, 2012, 2014) and its third in six years. Tech is 1-3 in the ACC Football Championship Game. All four games have been decided by five points or less. • Saturday was the 24th meeting in the series and the first since the 2012 ACC Football Championship Game. • Florida State leads the all-time series 14-9-1. • Georgia Tech is 32-32 all-time when playing in a pro venue, including a 56-28 win earlier this season over Pitt at the Steelers’ Heinz Field. • Georgia Tech is the first team to score TDs in each of its first two possessions in ACC Championship game history.  • Georgia Tech’s five-game winning streak was snapped with the loss.

TEAM NOTES • Georgia Tech has played 224 consecutive games without being shut out – the second-longest active streak in the  ACC. The Jackets haven’t been shut out since Oct. 18, 1997 at Florida State. • Florida State (4) and Georgia Tech (11) have the lowest combined Top 25 rank in ACC Football Championship Game history. • Georgia Tech is 8-4 in the state of North Carolina under head coach Paul Johnson. The Jackets are 13-4 in their last 17 trips to the Tar Heel State and 19-6 in their last 25 trips. • Paul Johnson is 3-5 against AP Top 10 teams as Georgia Tech’s head coach. Tech’s previous three head coaches (Bill Lewis, George O’Leary, Chan Gailey) were a combined 3-17. • Georgia Tech is 10-13 vs. Top 25 teams under head coach Paul Johnson. • Georgia Tech played a Top 25 team for the third consecutive week for the first time since 1998. • This was the eighth time this season that Tech has scored on its opening drive and the seventh time the Jackets have scored a TD on their opening possession. It was only the second time Florida State allowed an opponent to score on its opening drive.  • FSU is the ninth opponent of Georgia Tech’s that has failed to score on its opening drive.  • This is the first game the Jackets have played against a Heisman trophy winner since Steve Spurrier in the 1967 Orange Bowl.  • Georgia Tech broke the school record for touchdowns scored in a season, scoring five TDs against Florida State to surpass 2012’s record of 63 with 65 TDs passes this season.  • Georgia Tech rushed for 331 yards, the second most in an ACC Championship game. The only total that is higher is the 333 rushing yards by the Jackets in 2009 against Clemson.  • Georgia Tech had 331 yards rushing, which marks the first 300 yard rushing game against Florida State since 2009 when Florida recorded 311.  • Georgia Tech’s 35 points are the most points scored by the losing team in the ACC Championship game and Tech’s 465 yards of total offense were also the most by a losing team in the ACC Championship game.  • The Yellow Jackets rushed the ball on its first 27 plays, marking the most consecutive rushing plays to start a game by a Power Five conference team this year.  • Georgia Tech is now 37-10 in the Paul Johnson era when rushing for 300+ yards, including a 12-3 mark in the last 15 games. • Georgia Tech has held the ball for 10+ minutes in 13 of 52 quarters this season, including eight of the last 17 quarters.  • Georgia Tech’s 481 points scored this season are the most the Jackets have scored since Tech scored 473 in the 2009 season.  • Georgia Tech’s 333.6 rushing yards per game currently rank first on Tech’s single-season list. The Jackets’ 4,337 rushing yards are second on Tech’s single-season list, behind the 4,357 yards that were recorded in 2012. • Georgia Tech’s 468.7 total yards per game currently ranks second on Tech’s single-season record list. The Jackets’ 6,094 total yards are second on Tech’s single-season list, behind the 6,094 tallied in 2012. 

INDIVIDUAL NOTES • Sophomore QB Justin Thomas has 965 rushing yards this season ranks third on Georgia Tech’s rushing yards by a quarterback in a single season list. Thomas needs 35 yards to become 2nd GT QB to rush for 1,000 in a season • Thomas tied for 5th on single-season TD passes (17) with Joe Hamilton (1998).  • Thomas’ 104 rushing yards against FSU marked his fourth 100-yard rushing game this season.  • Senior DB Isaiah Johnson now holds the Georgia Tech career record for tackles by DB with 275. With his three tackles against FSU, he surpassed Jeremy Muyres (1999-02) for first place. • Senior Zach Laskey moved into 14th on Tech’s all-time rushing list with 1,970 career yards after rushing for 40 against FSU.  • Senior B-back Synjyn Days’ three rushing TDs is a career-high. He is the third Yellow Jacket to record three TDs in one game this season joining Laskey (vs. Clemson) and Snoddy (at Pitt).   • Sophomore kicker Harrison Butker’s 174 career points rank fifth on Tech’s career points by kicking list.
