• 1,000 Free (10th), 9:31.18
As A Junior In 2012-13: Set career-best times in four events during his junior season, with three coming at the ACC Championship… A versatile swimmer, Nilsson won the 500 free versus College of Charleston… He set Tech[apos]s fastest time of the year in the 400 IM, which was also a career-best of 3:55.12 at the ACC Championship… His 200 career-best of 1:52.71 came at the ACCs as did 200 breast time of 2:04.61… His fourth career-best time came in the 100 breast versus Emory (58.82).

As A Sophomore In 2011-12: Posted a 16th-place finish for the second-consecutive season in the 1,650 free at the ACC Championship in a time of 15:45.41… Finished 22nd in the 500 free at the ACC Championship in a season-best time of 4:35.00… Was 29th in the 400 IM (4:04.44)… Won the 500 free versus North Carolina in a time of 4:44.71… Claimed victory in the 400 IM versus Emory in a time of 4:03.20… Check in with career-best times in the 100 back (53.45) and 200 free (1:43.58) at the Georgia Tech Invitational… Was fifth in the 100 breast (59.84) versus Emory.

As A Freshman In 2010-11: Recorded a season best time in the 500 free, 1,650 free and 400 IM at the ACC Championships … earned a 22nd place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:31.21, a 16th place finish in the 1,650 free in a time of 15:41.95 and a 18th place and 3:57.14 finish in the 400 IM … Netted the team[apos]s fastest time in 2010-11 in the 1,000 free at Florida, touching the wall in 9:31.18 and also taking home the victory in the 500 free and the 400 IM … Earned a first place finish in the 500 free at Davidson, finishing in 4:42.79 … Notched a season best time of 1:56.09 in the 200 IM at NC State.

High School: A four-year letterwinner under the direction of Leslie Berens at South Mecklenburg High School … Earned the honor of Scholastic All-American from 2008-2010 and was also an All-American in the 400 free relay during his senior season … Named the MVP of his high school team … Also a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and the Spanish Honor Society.

Personal: Born Andreas Carl Nilsson on July 13, 1992 in Charlotte, N.C. … Parents are Peter and Ann Nilsson … Has an older sister Michaela who currently swims for Rutgers University … Chose Georgia Tech because it is academically prestigious, the swim team and its location … Enjoys swimming, drawing, eating and sleeping … Plans to major in Building Construction and would like to be an architect.
