GEORGIA TECH COACH Paul Johnson
Opening Statement:
“I was proud of our guys. They did what we asked them to. We have been talking to them all week about controlling what we can control and not worrying about anyone else. If you can find a way to keep winning, the games will get bigger and bigger.”
On Quarterback Justin Thomas
“I thought he was very efficient today. He made some good plays today. He is a playmaker and he has made big plays all year.”
On defense:
“The defense was opportunistic. They gave up some yards and some plays but anytime you can get a couple scores with the defense, that is always good.”
NC STATE HEAD COACH DAVE DOEREN
On pace of game and play early on:
“Early on, things were going the way we thought they would. It was a back-and-forth game. We thought it was going to be that way and we would go score for score, but things backfired with the two turnovers.”
On Georgia Tech:
“They are a good football team. I knew we were going to have to play a good football game because of what they do offensively. They go for it on fourth down. Their fullback is a very good runner and we did not tackle him. Our plan was to take away the fullback first and that did not happen. We will look at the film and get back to where we need to be mentally with the guys. Next week we have a great opportunity at home for senior day.”
