No. 24 Volleyball Defeats Florida A&M

Behind the hitting of Lauren Sauer who had 12 kills and hit .455, the No. 24 Georgia Tech volleyball team defeated Florida A&M in three games, 30-27, 30-22, 30-25. With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 26-5 while the Rattlerettes fall to 20-5.

“It was great to see Lauren Sauer have such a good match today,” said head coach Bond Shymansky. “She played very well today and at times crushed some balls for kills. Florida A&M is a good team and gave us some challenges, but we fought through them like a poised team does and that was good to see.”

The Yellow Jackets outhit the Rattlerettes .242 to .185 and posted six blocks in the match as Jayme Gergen and Sauer each recorded three. Kele Eveland led Tech defensively with 15 digs while Lynnette Moster had eight.

Florida A&M was led by Adriana Kostadinova who had 18 kills in the match.

Georgia Tech returns to action Friday when they host Wake Forest at 6:30 in O’Keefe Gymnasium.
