ATLANTA – The 24th-ranked Georgia Tech softball team (32-12) will travel to Furman, S.C., for a non-conference doubleheader with Furman (12-18-1) this Wednesday, April 4. The games are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and can be followed via live stats on www.ramblinwreck.com.

The Yellow Jackets are 5-5 over their last 10 games and stand at 4-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Tech will try and take the all-time series lead with the Lady Paladins, with both teams winning 17 games in 34 contests. The Jackets have won eight straight games in the series and 11 of the last 12.

Tech continues to lead the ACC in every offensive category with the exception of doubles, trailing Florida State’s 57 by two. The Jackets are hitting .323 as a team, with an NCAA leading 55 home runs, 11 triples, 269 RBI, 393 hits, 293 runs, .398 on base percentage and a .522 slugging percentage. Tech also leads the ACC with 62 stolen bases in 70 attempts.

Senior Caitlin Lever continues to lead the ACC in batting average (.507), on base percentage (.578), hits (68), doubles (13), RBI (48) and is second in slugging percentage (.828). The outfielder has eight home runs on the season and ranks second in the ACC with 45 runs scored.

Sophomore Whitney Haller has been hot as of late for the Yellow Jackets. The first baseman is batting .412 over her last five games, with one double, two home runs and seven runs batted in.

In the circle, Tiffany Johnson and Whitney Humphreys continue to lead the Jackets. Both have 13 victories, tied for fourth-best in the ACC. Johnson leads the team with a 2.28 earned run average (10th in the ACC) and is averaging 8.12 strikeouts per game (4th in the ACC). Humphreys has fanned 86 in 106 innings pitched, one shy of her career-high set last season.

The Yellow Jackets will host Florida State in an ACC three-game series this Easter weekend, April 7-8, at Glenn Field. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday, both days beginning at 1 p.m. The games on Saturday will air on www.ACCSelect.com via webcast.
