Morgan Burnett Named 2nd-Team All-American By Rivals.com

ATLANTA – Sophomore safety Morgan Burnett has been named a second-team All-American by Rivals.com it was announced today.

Burnett is tied for the NCAA lead in interceptions with seven, including a 35-yard INT return for a touchdown against Georgia Nov. 29. The College Park (Ga.) native leads the Yellow Jackets in tackles (79) to go with 5.5 tackles-for-loss, eight pass break-ups and a forced fumble. He already ranks 13th all-time at Georgia Tech with 10 interceptions, while his seven this season are the fourth-most in a single season.

Burnett and the No. 14 Yellow Jackets resume practice this weekend in preparation for the 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl against LSU, New Year’s Eve at the Georgia Dome (7:30 p.m./ESPN).
