Leonard Named Campbell Trophy Semifinalist

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech tight end Dylan Leonard (Milton, Ga./Milton H.S.) has been named a semifinalist for the 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation announced on Wednesday. The Campbell Trophy is presented annually to college football’s top scholar-athlete by the NFF.

He has gone on to make 13 starts in 31 games as a Yellow Jacket, serve as a game captain and represent Tech at the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Kickoff. He has also participated in several community service initiatives during his time on The Flats, including with Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army and local youth organizations.

The National Football Foundation will pare its list of semifinalists to 12-14 finalists on Oct. 26 and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. The winner of the 2022 Campbell Trophy be announced on Dec. 6 at the 64th NFF Awards Dinner in Las Vegas.

Leonard and the Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday when they travel to No. 24 Pitt. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on ACC Network.
