Kellogg and Rath Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA Talisa Kellogg and Zachary Rath were named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, September 26, 2005.

Kellogg, a freshman from Westerville, Ohio, helped the volleyball team to its first ACC victory of the season last week. Kellogg posted a then career-best 16 kills and hit .424 against the Demon Deacons leading Tech to a 3-1 win. The following night, Kellogg established a new career high with 18 kills and also posted 12 digs in a 3-1 loss to Duke. On the week, the outside hitter averaged 4.25 kills, hit .325 and averaged 2.12 digs and 1.25 blocks per game.

Rath, a junior from Montreal, Canada, was the top performer for the men’s tennis team at the Southern Intercollegiates. Rath recorded four wins and advanced to the semifinals of the Division II Singles bracket, before falling to Christopher Rea of Ole Miss. Rath also teamed with Scott Blackmon in doubles, recording two wins and advancing to the semifinals of the tournament.
