ATLANTA–Georgia Tech’s 2005 football season officially got underway Friday as the Yellow Jackets reported to campus to begin preseason preparations for their Sept. 3 season opener at Auburn.
The Yellow Jackets moved into their dorm rooms, underwent physicals and completed paperwork Friday. Saturday, Tech head coach Chan Gailey and key players will meet with the media in the morning, followed by the team’s first practice, Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Rose Bowl Field. Practice is open to the public.
Georgia Tech’s flagship radio station, 790 the Zone, will broadcast live from Tech’s Media Day, Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with live interviews with Gailey and several Yellow Jacket players. The popular “Two Live Stews” program on 790 the Zone, featuring former Yellow Jacket standout Ryan Stewart, will also originate a live broadcast from Tech’s practice on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 10.
