Top Storylines
• Fresh off of its biggest win of the season, Georgia Tech wraps up the home portion of its 2016 schedule versus longtime ACC rival Virginia.

• In addition to being its first win over a nationally ranked opponent in four tries this season, last Saturday’s 30-20 victory at No. 18/22 Virginia Tech also made Georgia Tech bowl-eligible for the 19th time in the last 20 seasons.

• Last Saturday’s convincing win over the 18th-ranked Hokies came despite the Yellow Jackets missing five starters on offense — Sr. QB Justin Thomas, Sr. C Freddie Burden, Jr. RT Andrew Marshall, Jr. AB J.J. Green and Fr. BB Dedrick Mills.

Two Jackets were named ACC Players of the Week for their performances at Virginia Tech. Jr. NB Lawrence Austin was named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week after directly contributing to three of Georgia Tech’s four takeaways with two interceptions and a forced fumble. Fr. LG Parker Braun became the first freshman in Georgia Tech history to be named ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week after compliling 10 knockdowns and paving the way for Tech’s 309 rushing yards in the win at VT.

• Georgia Tech and Virginia are squaring off on the gridiron for the 39th time. The Yellow Jackets hold a slim 19-18-1 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs, which dates back to 1965.

• Saturday is Georgia Tech’s Senior Day. Tech will honor 16 student-athletes playing their final home game at Bobby Dodd Stadium prior to the contest. The student-athletes being recognized include 13 seniors — LB Chase Alford, BB Marcus Allen, OL Freddie Burden, PK Harrison Butker, LB P.J. Davis, DL Patrick Gamble, DL Francis Kallon, AB Austin McClellan, OL Michael Muns, P Ryan Rodwell, DL Rod Rook-Chungong, QB Justin Thomas and AB Isiah Willis — and three fourth-year juniors who are graduating and have elected to forego their final season of eligibility — OL Niko Anderson, BB Ryan Braswell and OL Eason Fromayan.
