Higgs and Crittenton Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Stephanie Higgs and Javaris Crittenton were named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, January 9, 2007.

Higgs, a senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., led the Jackets to a 2-1 record on the week including the teams first ACC road win in two years. She scored 24 points, shooting a perfect 11-11 from the free throw line and grabbed eight rebounds in the 63-57 win over Clemson. Higgs scored 18 points in the victory over Winston-Salem St. University and added 12 points in the loss to UNC.

Crittenton, a a freshman from Atlanta, Ga, had 13 points and nine assists in Georgia Tech’s 97-46 victory over Winston-Salem State on Wednesday night. He also scored a career-high 22 points for Georgia Tech in the 75-74 road loss to then No. 23 Clemson. Crittenton is averaging a team-high 29 minutes a game and has averaged 13.9 points a game for the Jackets.
