Lynnette Moster tallied 21 kills and 10 digs, her 13th double-double on the season, as the Georgia Tech volleyball team won its 15th straight match, defeating Florida State, 3-1 (30-23, 30-28, 29-31, 30-25) Friday night. With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 17-5 and remain perfect in Atlantic Coast Conference action with an 11-0 record while the Seminoles fall to 13-9, 5-6 ACC.
In addition to Moster, the Jackets were led by Lauren Sauer who posted 17 kills and five blocks, followed by Jayme Gergen who had 12 kills, hit a team high .400 and recorded five block assists. Ulrike Stegemann added 10 kills and three block assists. Defensively, Marisa Aston had a team high 19 digs, followed by Lindsey Laband who had nine.
As a team, the Jackets outhit the Seminoles .250 to .248 and posted 11 blocks to Florida State’s six. Laband paced the offense, recording 50 assists in the match.
Florida State was led by outside hitter Kristen Rust who had a match high 23 kills and 13 digs and hit .404.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action Saturday night when they host Miami, who stands in second place in the ACC standings, at 7 p.m. in O’Keefe Gymnasium.
