THE FLATS – Georgia Tech student-athletes Kyle Barone (swimming and diving), Mikaila Dowd (volleyball), Lotta-Maj Lahtinen (women’s basketball) and Nicole Fegans (women’s cross country/track and field) are among the Atlantic Coast Conference’s 54 honorees of the 2022 Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholarship recipients.
This year’s list includes three student-athletes who will also receive the Thacker Award and nine student-athletes, including Fegans, who plan to pursue professional careers in their chosen sports and were named honorary recipients. To be considered, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average as an undergraduate.
The Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford and Jim and Pat Thacker postgraduate scholarships are awarded to selected student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate degree following completion of their undergraduate requirements. Barone, Dowd and Lahtinen will each receive $6,000 toward their graduate educations. Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community.
