Kevin Leonard is in his second season as a senior defensive analyst at Georgia Tech.
Prior to his arrival at Georgia Tech in 2024, Leonard was a graduate assistant at Duke in 2023, where he was on the same defensive staff as current Tech defensive line coach Jess Simpson. In Leonard’s lone season at Duke, the Blue Devils had the ACC’s top-ranked scoring defense, allowing just 19.0 points per game, which was good for 16th nationally. Duke also ranked among the nation’s top 50 in rushing defense, passing defense, total defense, tackles for loss, third-down defense, fourth-down defense and red-zone defense in 2023.
Before coming to the Atlantic Coast Conference, Leonard got his coaching career started at his alma mater, Texas A&M. He served as a defensive analyst for the Aggies in 2022, following three seasons as a student assistant (2019-21).
A 2022 Texas A&M graduate, Leonard majored in multidisciplinary engineering technology with a minor in embedded systems.
