Clark-Bibbs Selected To USA Volleyball Junior National Training Team

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech middle blocker Chanell Clark-Bibbs was selected to the 13-player roster for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Junior National Training Team as announced by USA Volleyball. The team will train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., beginning June 5.

“What a great honor for Chanell and our program – I am very proud of her,” Georgia Tech head coach Tonya Johnson said. “I’m excited for her and the opportunity that she has to possibly represent the USA on the Junior National Team.”

Following the week-long training session, the roster will be narrowed to the final 12 players that make up the 2013 U.S. Women’s Junior National Team (WJNT). The squad will depart on June 12 to represent the United States in the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Under 21 World Championship to be held June 21-30 in the cities of Brno and Prostejov, Czech Republic.

Clark-Bibbs was named to the 2012 All-ACC freshman team after tallying 1.80 kills per set with a total of 117 on the season – fourth-best on the team. She posted the second-most solo blocks on the team with 10 and a 0.88 per game average.
