ATLANTA – Day three of Chick-fil-A Bowl Week began early again as Georgia Tech left the Marriott Marquis at 8:00 a.m. for practice. The Yellow Jackets practiced in shells at Bobby Dodd Stadium for just over an hour in on and off rain showers. LSU must be wondering if its plane made a detour in Seattle with the weather the last couple of days! We have yet to see the sun since players reported back to campus Friday morning.
After practice, Coach Johnson as well as quarterback Josh Nesbitt and safety Morgan Burnett went to the Sheraton Hotel for a press conference. The trio answered questions from both Atlanta and Louisiana media for nearly 30 minutes at the official Chick-fil-A Bowl media hotel.
At 12:30 p.m., most of the travelling party including all of the players made the short trip to the Georgia Dome to watch the Atlanta Falcons take on the St. Louis Rams. LSU had a late morning practice at the Falcons facility in Flowery Branch and arrived at the Dome around halftime. Both teams were treated to a great game with former ACC star quarterback Matt Ryan and the Falcons pulling out a late win. If it wasn’t for a last- second Carolina field goal in New Orleans, the Falcons would have won the division but what a story they are to make the play-offs.
Monday promises to be the busiest day of Bowl Week. Tech will practice in the morning and activities for the rest of the day include a trip to a local hospital, dinner at Fire of Brazil restaurant and a tour of the Georgia Aquarium.
