The Tech fans kept those votes rolling in and trounced Big Red of Western Kentucky in Week Eight of the Capital One Bowl Challenge. The Jacket Faithful netted over 200,000 votes for Buzz for the third week in a row and the fourth time during the competition.
With this victory, Buzz will improve to 8-0 on the year and will still sit in first place ahead of Wolfie, Jr. who is currently locked in a dead heat with Sparty of Michigan State. As of 10:30 Sunday night, Wolfie held just a 114 vote advantage.
This week, Buzz will face off against Wilbur of the University of Arizona. Wilbur is 4-3 this season and has tallied just over 721,000 votes in this competition.
Wilbur has lost to Aubie (Week 1), fell in a close one to Sparty (Week 3), and Big Blue (Week 7) but have defeated Superfrog (Week 2), Mike the Tiger (Week 4), The Duck (Week 5), Benny the Beaver (Week 6), and are on pace to beat Boomer from Oklahoma this week.
The Arizona fans aren’t as dedicated as the Tech fans but they can come out strong so let’s keep the momentum going!
Now why you should vote for Buzz:
• Despite a 48-12 thrashing of UCLA this week, the Arizona football team was on a five game skid and are currently 2-5 on the season.
• Let’s show the Pac-12 where the real fans are. We’ve already beaten The Duck and Benny the Beaver a third victory over the “superconference” would be great!
