THE FLATS – Georgia Tech athletics’ Alexander-Tharpe Fund held its 2016-17 Scholarship Endowment Dinner on Monday evening at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center.
The Scholarship Endowment Dinner is an annual event to show appreciation for the A-T Fund donors that support Georgia Tech student-athletes through the endowment of athletics scholarships, while also giving scholarship recipients the opportunity to personally express their gratitude for donors’ generous support.
Monday’s event was highlighted by Georgia Tech football letterwinner, former head coach and donor Bill Curry (IM, ’65), who delivered a stirring speech in which he stated that “I owe everything I’ve got to Georgia Tech.”
Other speakers included student-athletes Harrison Butker (football), Donjhae Jones (track and field) and Chiara Ruiu (swimming and diving).
The A-T Fund is a division of the Georgia Tech Athletic Association and serves as the primary fundraising department to support student-athletes in the form of scholarships, program support and facilities improvements. For more on the A-T Fund and to become a member today, visit atfund.org.
